Hello from sunny California, and welcome to my website.
In the midst of everything going on in our country right now, it is often hard to focus on the task, but, that said, I'm working on my next cozy mystery entitled, Death Wore Sunglasses. It should be out this fall, or possibly late summer if I really get my act in gear. Book four has the ladies of The Glass Ceiling Club still on vacation in Italy. They have left behind the trauma of their aborted vacation in Venice and traveled down the coast to Sorrento for some fun in the sun with their significant others. Unfortunately, things don't turn out as they planned. It's been said of Chiara that she's a magnet for murder, and again this is proving to be true. But, of course, The Glass Ceiling Club finds the killer or killers in the end. Along the way, however, the beauty of the Amalfi Coast is often overshadowed by a mystery with a bit of a historical twist. It seems these ladies are just not destined to have a real, carefree vacation.
My decision to locate books three and four in the series in Venice and Sorrento is based on my love of both places, and my daily hope that one day I will return to Italy where I owned a home for ten years. My love of Venice began on my first trip to Italy in the year 2000. After that, while importing Prosecco, my husband and I visited Venice more than twenty times. It remains my favorite city. It took ten years before we found our home in Le Marche, where we lived from 2010 until 2020. During my life in Le Marche, a beautiful place along the Adriatic Coast, I had the chance to visit Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast on a few occasions. It's my personal knowledge of both Venice and Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast that serve as the backdrop for the plots in The Murano Glass Murders and soon the to be released Death Wore Sunglasses.
You can find all of my books (ten and counting) on Amazon. Until next time, happy reading. Maree
